BMI stands for Body Mass Index, a calculation based on height and weight to determine body composition. It doesn’t actually measure body fat, but research shows it is a fairly accurate way to assess fat and the associated risks for average adult men and women. A healthy BMI score is between 20 and 25. A score below 20 indicates that you may be underweight; a value above 25 indicates that you may be overweight. Talk to a health professional if you have concerns.
